Travis Pembrook Oklahoma Accident: OK livestock community mourn the unexpected loss of phenomenal cattleman Travis Pembrook

Travis Pembrook Oklahoma Accident

The Oklahoma livestock industry is mourning the sudden and devastating loss of Travis Pembrook, a widely respected cattleman, judge, mentor, and man of faith who tragically passed away following an accident. His passing has left a tremendous void not only in the cattle world but also in the hearts of his family, friends, and countless individuals who were blessed to know him.

Travis was far more than just a cattleman—he was a visionary leader in the livestock community, known for raising and selling some of the highest-quality cattle in the industry. His eye for excellence was unmatched, and his reputation as an evaluator and judge brought him to some of the most reputable livestock shows in the country. His commitment to integrity and his ability to see both the art and science in cattle breeding made him a trusted voice and mentor in the industry.

Those who worked alongside Travis often describe him as a man who led by example. He combined knowledge with humility, always eager to share his expertise while lifting others up in the process. Many young cattlemen and women credit Travis with shaping their paths, both professionally and personally, through his encouragement and wisdom.

But to define Travis solely by his professional success would be to overlook the heart of who he was. Above all else, Travis was a man devoted to his faith, family, and community. He lived a life that reflected his love for God, carrying out his work and relationships with honor, compassion, and generosity. Together with his wife Beth, Travis built a legacy rooted not just in cattle, but in love, service, and an unwavering belief in the Lord.

One of the passages that guided Travis’s life and now comforts those left behind is from Ephesians 2:8-9:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

His friends and colleagues in the livestock community expressed their grief while also celebrating his legacy:

“Travis wasn’t just a phenomenal cattleman, he was a phenomenal human being. He loved people, he loved God, and he poured his energy into making the world better through both his work and his heart. While we are broken by his loss, we rejoice knowing he is with the Lord.”

In a particularly heavy week, the livestock industry has also been grieving the loss of another legend, Troy Thomas. Together, Travis and Troy were more than stockmen—they were mentors, encouragers, and examples of devotion whose influence extended far beyond the show ring. Their passing marks the end of an era, but their legacies will endure for generations to come.

The visitation for Travis will be held on Tuesday, August 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home in Fairview, Oklahoma. His funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 27, at 11 a.m. at the Fairview High School Gymnasium, with lunch to follow at the Major County Fairgrounds. Friends, colleagues, and loved ones are invited to attend as the community gathers to honor his life and legacy.

The livestock industry, as well as the Fairview and broader Oklahoma community, will forever remember Travis Pembrook for his leadership, kindness, faith, and enduring impact. Heaven is brighter with his presence, but his absence here will be deeply felt.
